I learned the proper approach to DFSS. The main thing was the many, easy to use PC tools.
The ability to treat inputs as statistical distributions allows us a lot more insight into how "robust" a design could be.
Statistics is no longer just an academic discipline. It does have real life impact on effective management for production.
Exploring the statistical tools for QFD, TRIZ, OPTIMIZATION, Regression, etc. provide the very fundamental of Six Sigma process and how to approach problems to reduce cost, time and improve customer satisfaction.
It is a well know fact that the farther a design progresses, the more expensive it is to make changes. These DFSS tools can help us to optimize our designs better and earlier.

DFSS course was geared toward applied statistics/quality/design as opposed to just theory. I now have a working knowledge of the types of data analysis my suppliers provide; i.e. I can now challenge that data with confidence.
The one thing that I specifically liked about the DFSS training was the FMEA training which allows you to do strategic work which is lacking in many development projects.

I now know how statistics and variable awareness can help give me better insight into the processes and designs. This additional info will be useful in improving final cost/performance/schedule.
I liked the SDI tools - QFD, TRIZ, and Sensitivity Analysis. The software will be very useful.
The product development phase information is one that I wish I had had 6-8 years ago.
I have learned how to apply a better design approach to produce a more reliable design without design changes after the fact.
This was an excellent course. It was very well paced and the examples are easily understood. The uses of simulation will be very useful in my job.

I liked the fact that DFSS gives tools to help make and justify design decisions.
I think the training will help me focus more on what the customer desires rather than on just meeting a specification.
Excellent training. Excellent instructor. Well worth the time away from my everyday activities.
The training shows a structured way to develop and design new products. In addition, many of the tools will be beneficial in setting up best practices and troubleshooting.
The instructor was extremely knowledgeable. By far the most knowledgeable instructor I've had in any training. All [of our] design engineers, mechanical engineers, and quality engineers should go through this course.
TRW Automotive

Excellent theory and hands-on integration. One of the best classes I have had!!
UOP

The best part about this training was that all of the tools are Excel-based. That made the interface familiar and all of the tools intuitive to use. We didn't have to concentrate on how to use the software during the training.
I really liked the structured way that this course was taught. The emphasis was on where the tool's fit in rather than how to use them. In past Six Sigma courses I have taken we got so bogged down in the statistics that I couldn't 'see the forest for the trees'.

I was amazed at the utility and power that DFSS has. It can certainly help me in my design work now.
