SDI will be giving two workshops at the Six Sigma Leadership Conference:

Workshop 1 (June 27 ,2005): Using DFSS in the Lifecycle Management of your Products

DFSS often focuses on product development and the results of the production process. However, products have many lifecycles tha tbegin with conception and continue through to retirement and disposal. Decisions made during product conception have impacts that extend far beyond production and delivery to the customer. The activity associated with ensuring that satisfaction is provided to all stakeholders through tht elife of the product is called Lifecycle Management. Product Lifecycle Management or PLM is the next wave of focus by major corporations and CAE/CAD tool developers. This workshop will discuss Product Lifecycle Management, the role of DFSS in this activity, and the concepts that support its implementation.

Workshop 2 (June 30 ,2005): Methods and Tools that Deliver the promise of DFSS

Customer Needs, Requirements, Design Alternatives, Decisions, Modeling, Allocation, Analysis, Optimization, Measurement System Anaysis...and the list goes on! All of these concepts are critical to Product Development and as a result are emphasized in most DFSS processes. But how do you perform these concepts in a manner that provides tangible results, supports the decision making process, predicts problems before they occur, and provides documentation of the development process? DFSS processes often focus on the what-to-do, but what about the mechanics of how-to-do-it? This workshop will discuss the methods and tools that willt ransform your DFSS process into a documented, decision making anad anlysis product develpment activity.
